thanks for watching us tonight. stunning new poll on politics in the media that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. survey done by politico and george washington university asked 1,000 likely voters about the current state of politics and the media in the u.s.a. the results may surprise you. first, 45% strongly disapprove of the job president obama is doing. 35% strongly approve. but personally, this situation is reverse. 47% of likely voters say they strongly approve of the president as a person. just 19% strongly disprove. on the subject of his possible re-election, 44% say they will vote against barack obama the next time around. 38% say he deserves to be reelected. 42% of americans say the president is very liberal. and 41% say the new obama care legislation is terrible. just 18% favor it enthusiastically. so the mood of the country is obviously running strongly against mr. obama's policies. as for the republican party, mitt romney has a 45% favorable rating. 28% don't like him. sarah palin 44%
